The Midwest Institute of Neurological Discovery (MIND) is a multidisciplinary center, bringing together a diverse group of specialists with high-level expertise in brain health and well-being. With over 20 years of experience treating neurological diseases and disorders, the MIND team is committed to providing excellence in service for their patients by using state-of-the art diagnostic procedures and treatment protocols that are tailored to each patient’s needs.

Meet The Team

Petronilo Costa, MD

Dr. Petronilo Costa - MD

Medical Director

Petronilo Costa, MD is an attending physician at MIND in Deerfield, Illinois. From the beginning of his career, Dr. Costa has taken a special interest in community outreach and has become an internationally recognized authority in pediatric neuropsychiatry.

Dr. Costa attended medical school at the Universidade Federal do Paraná (UFPR) in Brazil, where he completed his pediatrics training. He migrated to the United States for his post-graduate studies, completing his general psychiatry residency at the University of Illinois and a child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the University of Chicago’s Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center.

With more than 50 years in private practice, Dr. Costa is a dedicated consultant as well as a treating physician. Using his psychodynamic training to guide his advanced research-based approach to neuropsychiatric illness, Dr. Costa works with patients of all ages and is able to diagnose and treat a wide range of complicated conditions.

Michael Easton, MD

Dr. Michael Easton

Dr. Easton has over 15 years of psychiatric research in areas related to the use of medications and ECT in the treatment of psychiatric disorders as well as anti-craving medication in addiction. He has numerous research publications and book chapters in his areas of expertise as well as having lectured nationally on topics related to the pharmacotherapeutic agents and the management of mood disorders, psychosis and addiction.

Nash Boutros, MD MIND

Dr. Nashaat Boutros

Nash N. Boutros, M.D. is Adjunct Professor of Psychiatry at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Previously he served as Chair of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Missouri in Kansas City (UMKC) from 2014-2017. He has taught and conducted research at the University of Texas, the Ohio State University and Yale. He graduated from Cairo University College of Medicine in 1974. He is Board Certified in both Psychiatry and Neurology and specializes in neuropsychiatric conditions. He is renowned throughout the world as an authority regarding Psychiatric Electrophysiology. Dr. Boutros has published more than 220 peer reviewed papers in national and international journals in addition to 8 books and numerous book chapters.

Mellanie Dillon

Melanie Dillon - LCPC

Melanie Dillon is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Board Certified National Counselor and Certified Alcohol and other Drug Counselor. She has been in private practice since 1993 and more recently she formed an integrated mind.body.spirit practice known as Entourage Clinical Services. At MIND she is the Patient Liaison and supports patients receiving treatment. Melanie is a Certified Holistic Cannabis Practitioner through the Holistic Cannabis Academy in Colorado. Her years of practice and facility with alternative healing methods support the innovative treatment options offered at TNC.

Allison Wright
MABS, MS, PA-C

Graduated from North Central College in 2015 with bachelor's degrees in Biology and Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience. Went on to obtain a Masters degree in Biomedical science at Midwestern University in 2017 and then obtained her professional degree in Physician Assistant Practice at Rosalind Franklin University in 2020. She has been with MIND since 2019 when she began here as a student, and was given various opportunities to learn and grow with the practice. Now as a licensed PA she works alongside our medical director in seeing patients, managing medications, ordering tests and coordinating treatment plans among practitioners to ensure our patients are receiving comprehensive and holistic care.
